[FLR] Why you need unlike-minded people on your team (and 3 ways to get them)

Happy Friday,

I was walking along Bay Street in Toronto when I noticed one of the most insightful things I’ve seen in a long time.

“Great minds don’t think alike.” This was a slogan from an investment firm. What word stands out for you in it?

If you said “don’t” you are indeed correct. We all know this saying as, “Great minds think alike”. If the leaders of this investment firm were to all think alike, your finances will be at risk.

As a leader, it’s important to consider the diversity of the thinking on your team

According to a research project by Gartner, 75% of teams that have “intellectual diversity” will outperform their financial targets.

Create great teams that think differently.

There are certain attributes that build high-performance teams and make them stand out, and two in particular, diversity and inclusion, can improve success.” – Laurence Goasduff

Leading along the road with you,

Alan
