FLR | How Does Doubt Effect You As A Leader | Friday Leadership Report

Happy Friday,

This coming weekend F1 title could be decided, it has been an exciting year & yes, I am a convert from the Formula One Netflix series.

The two things that Lewis Hamilton & Max Verstappen have in common are they both are outstanding drivers and have minimal self-doubt.

The word doubt comes from the Latin dubitare, meaning to question, hesitate & waver in opinion. It also originates from the duo “two” meaning a sense of “two minds, undecided between two things.”

When you are driving 275K down a straightaway heading into a corner, it is not the time to question what to do next.

An old proverb says, “A double-minded leader is unstable in all their ways.”

Strong leaders like winning F1 drivers are inherently talented, know their subject matter & have minimal self-doubt.

One of the great gifts you can give your team is certainty with humility.

Start your engines.

Along the road with you
