IPAC Doc & Debate | Generation Jobless

CareerJoy joins the National Capital Regional Group of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada at an IPAC Doc & Debate Event: Generation Jobless.

Canadian youth entering the workforce today have bleaker employment prospects than the generation that came before them. With an unemployment rate double that of the general working population, young workers seeking employment also face high student debt rates, and low paid internships with few prospects of transitioning into permanent work. Generation Jobless, recently featured on the CBC’s Doc Zone, documents the challenges facing our country’s youngest workers. You can watch the documentary trailer here.

After the documentary, Alan joins David M. Gray, a well-know labour economist at the University of Ottawa, to discuss the public policy changes required to help this ‘lost generation.’
