[FLR] Leadership: A Year of Losing and Finding My Way

Jan 13, 2017 – The ‘Purpose’ Edition

Happy Friday!

I was struck by the final State of the Union address by President Obama. No matter what political views you hold, President Obama and First Lady Michelle have led with grace, class, wisdom and a deep sense of love for the country, each other and their family.

The very best leaders have a deep sense of purpose in why they do what they do. For the Obamas, their common goal was, through their roles, to be instruments of a more perfect democracy. To lead, and more importantly, be the change that would make their country a better country.

In exchange, the United States became better and they, and their family, were profoundly blessed by the offices they led so well and with purpose.

Yes, they did!
