Jill has spent almost two decades as both a career counsellor/coach and a HR professional working in Universities, government agencies and in the private sector in both Canada and the United States.  Her extensive career includes working as both a career counsellor at noted universities, including Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, The George Washington University, and American University and as an internal recruiter and career coach for Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt, LLP, the US Securities and Exchange Commission and the Internal Revenue Service.   As an HR professional, her expertise includes recruiting, talent management and training and development.  Coaching individuals who seek assistance in finding an authentic and meaningful career and life has been Jill’s most recent focus.

Jill has a doctorate level degree (Ed.S) in Community Counseling as well as an MA in Community Counseling and an MA in International Development.  She also has professional certifications in Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the Strong Interest Inventory and as a Career & Job Transition Coach.   Throughout Jill's academic and work career she has focused on work life issues, talent management, succession planning and the primary goal of helping people find meaning and fulfillment in their work and personal lives.

Jill has followed her own unique path and has had an interesting life journey so far.  She went to High School and University in Paris, France and Tel Aviv, Israel and lived on the East Coast of the United States and in Washington, DC for over twenty years before moving to the GTA in late 2006. She now resides with her family in Mississauga, Ontario.  Jill is an active professional and is currently serving as the Vice Chair for the Association of Career Professionals International, Toronto Chapter.  She also volunteers at her son’s school, Moksha Yoga Milton and Goodlife Fitness Childminding centres.

If you could be a character from Star Wars, who would you be and why?
R2D2—no words, just beeps and clearly understood.  And, so loyal

What's your favorite thing to do on a hot summer day?
Swim: in the sea, in a backyard pool or my community pool or in a lake.  I am a fish really and I love the silence underwater.

What's your most endearing quality?
I can talk to anyone and connect with most people.  And, I really love hearing people’s stories and making connections.

What's one of the most daring things you've done?
Rock climbing in West Virginia followed by White Water rafting on Class 5 rapids—it was quite a day!

What did you want to be when you grew up?
An archeologist

What's your biggest pet peeve?
Dishonesty,  just tell me like it is, and we can go from there

Under what conditions would you shave your head bald?
As a sign of solidarity for a loved one who is losing theirs

What's your idea of a great vacation?
Travelling somewhere I have never been to before, I always want to go somewhere new.  

What's the strangest thing you've ever had for breakfast?
Cold pizza

What's your favorite unhealthy snack?
Potato chips, but you can’t only eat just one!
