Janet is a social worker with experience primarily in the area of child welfare. Passionate about writing and helping people, working at career joy allows her to incorporate both. Having been at home with her two young children for the past five years she has taken this opportunity to make a change and expand her professional opportunities by pursuing her Masters in Social Work. In the fall of 2007, she began a placement with the city of Ottawa’s employee assistance program, fulfilling a life long goal of becoming a private therapist. Motivated by a sincere belief in the innate potential of every human being, Janet is committed to helping others to pursue and realize their dreams. When not spending time with family or at the computer, this sports enthusiast can be found training for her latest triathlon or ½ marathon.

If you could be a character from Star Wars who would you be and why?

Luke Skywalker, because he is on a journey as we all are, of self mastery and self discovery. His journey requires of him courage and honesty to confront what comes his way in order to be all that he can be. He does this by facing his fears and surrounding himself with the love and support of good friends. He is ultimately writing his own script and creating his own path.

What is your favorite thing to do on a hot summer day?

Play a good game of tennis followed by a swim in the pool and a pitcher of ice tea. Falling asleep in a hammock with a favorite book would top it all of!

What is your most endearing quality?

Sincerity

What’s one of the most daring things you’ve ever done?

-Drug free labor!

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

Poor grammar.

Your three favorite desserts?

Crème Brule, Cherry cheesecake, and chocolate…..anything chocolate.

What’s your definition of success?

Being content with what you have, here and now. Living in the present, laughing each day and giving of yourself.
